William Chia Yong Liang, born in 1960, became quadriplegic in 1984 because of an unfortunate diving accident. After suffering from a stroke in 2007, not only was he confined to bed, he had also lost his ability to speak. However, with much persistence and rehabilitation, his condition began to improve. Gradually, he was able to move around with the help of a wheelchair. In July 2010, William picked up painting with his mouth. Today, painting is no longer just a hobby, but a form of therapy that gives him strength and confidence to move on.
